Salvation of your soul

Salvation of your soul

"Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls." (1Pet.1.9)

The Apostle Peter speaks of the salvation of the soul. It should be noted that the spirit of man was saved but the soul needed saving. Man is a spirit, he has a soul and lives in a body. When a person becomes born again it is the spirit that is saved but the soul needs a constant renewal with the word of God to be saved.

"Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls." (Jas.1.21)

It is the engrafted word that can save your soul. The soul comprises the will, emotion, and the mind. The Apostle Paul says we should constantly renew the mind.

"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." (Rom:12:2)

When we constantly feed on the word of God, the word becomes engrafted or imprinted in our spirit, and that way our spirit becomes dominant and we do not now live based on just the intellectual word but from the realm of God's word that is spirit.

Feed your spirit regularly by reading the word of God, studying the word of God, meditating on the word of God, and practicing the word of God. That's how you save your soul

"How can a young person live a clean life? By carefully reading the map of your Word. (Ps.119.9 MSB)
