12 ways to enjoy your husband

12 ways to enjoy your husband

"When they observe the pure and modest way in which you conduct yourselves, together with your reverence [for your husband; you are to feel for him all that reverence includes: to respect, defer to, revere him - to honor, esteem, appreciate, prize, and, in the human sense, to adore him, that is, to admire, praise, be devoted to, deeply love, and enjoy your husband]." (1Pet.3.2 AMP)

The relationship between husband and wife is symbiotic. And as they both seek to uphold the sanctity of the marriage union, they grow together.

Here in our text, the Apostle Peter gave a list of twelve powerful words that will help the woman enjoy her marriage. It says if you want to enjoy your husband:

1. Respect him. Some have said that man needs respect than he needs love. Respect your husband. Sarah so respected Abraham that she called him lord.

2.  Dever to him: even when you know what to do, out of the respect you have for I'm, always defer to him.

3. Rever him: there should be a reverence that you reserve for him above all else. Nobody gets a better reverence from you.

4. Honor him: it makes his head 'swell'. Honour your husband. God placed him as your head, honour him.

5. Esteem him:  to esteem is to take him seriously. Place him up there above all else.

6. Appreciate him: no matter how small what he gives, let him know he is appreciated. Speak appreciative words to him.

7. Prize him: put a high value on your husband. He is your head. The value you put on him is what others will follow or otherwise.

8. Adore him, that is, in the human sense. That is to help him see the God side of him at all times. You do not adore him when you talk down on him.

9. Admire him: see good him at all times. See what others do not see. See all the potential that he displays and admire him

10. Praise him: let your words to him raise him. Praise him for the small things, more so the big ones.

11. Devoted to him: give him your undivided attention. Let him know he can count on you to travel the distance with him, transverse desert sand, climb the mountain, and cross the valley. Be devoted to him.

12. Deeply love: Love sums up the totality of your service to him. Let him never have a reason to question your love. Let your love for him run deep.

This is how you will enjoy your husband. You may say, the list consists more of service than enjoyment, but it is in service that we gain our highest fulfillment. Enjoy your husband.
