Surviving dark times

Surviving dark times

"We couldn't be more sure of what we saw and heard--God's glory, God's voice. The prophetic Word was confirmed to us. You'll do well to keep focusing on it. It's the one light you have in a dark time as you wait for daybreak and the rising of the Morning Star in your hearts. (2Pet.1.19 MSB)

The Psalmist tells us that God's word is a lamp to our feet and light to our path.

"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." (Ps.119.105)

So even when the times we are in seem to get darker and darker, the one sure pointer to seeing the glory of God and hearing the voice of God is to keep focusing on the prophetic Word of God.

Our text says the way to surviving dark times is to stay constantly focused on the prophetic Word of God. It says the word of God is the light that lights your path in dark times. Do not see your pain, do not see your situation, do not see your debilitating circumstances...see the Word.

Light is what keeps you in the dark of night until the day breaks and the Morning Star rises in your heart. Stars shine brightest in the darkest of night. For the Morning Star to rise in your heart, it might be night all around you. Weeping endures for the night but joy is coming in the morning. Stay focused on the prophetic word. The way to survive dark times is to focus on the prophetic word. Do not be like Peter in the storm who removed his focus from the Master to the billowing sea and started to sink.

"But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me." (Matt.14.30)

Keep your focus on the prophetic Word of God...that's how you survive dark times

Good day,
