Living in God's reality 

"This is the only way we'll know we're living truly, living in God's reality." (1John.3.19 MSB)

Living truly is truly living in love. One way one can measure one's spiritual growth is not so much by quoting so many passages of the Bible, it is not the amount of hours one Prays but how one loves people around. Love is the measuring stick by which one judges one's spiritual growth. 

Our text says that the only way we'll know we're living truly in God's reality is by living in love. It is not by fasting and prayers, These have their benefits but the only way we'll know is by living in God's reality which is love. 

Jesus said that by love others will know that you are His disciple 

"A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." (John.13.34 - 35)

Loving people is treating people well. Loving people is valuing people above things. Loving people is treating people as God would treat them. Loving people is living in God's reality.

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem  "When he served as a sacrifice for our sins, he solved the sin problem for good--not only ours, but the whole world's". (1John.1.2 MSB) When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, the sin passed through them to all men. And so the Bible recorded that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.  "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Rom.5.12)  But that was just the beginning of the story. Sin entered the world, and death came as a result of sin. It appears that mankind was doomed.  But Jesus came and served the punishment for sin and in so doing, He solved the sin problem for good. Now mankind has access once again to the Father. Now everything the Father has for us is at our disposal. Who makes me who I am

An Isoko adage says, "the name you call yourself is what others will call you. Meeting students, I have had cause to ask them if that was the name their parents named them and they say no. My real name is...and then they tell me. But whatever they call themselves is what other students call them. You are who you say you are, but the truth is, you act the way you become because you think that's who you are. So if you called yourself a policeman when you are a soldier, you will act as a policeman. If you are an eagle but call yourself a chicken, then you will act like a chicken. If you call yourself a failure, that's what you begin to act as. Little wonder, Jabez changed his name in the place of prayer, he declared that he is blessed and God granted his prayers.
