Seeing the face of God

Seeing the face of God

"No man has at any time [yet] seen God. But if we love one another, God abides (lives and remains) in us and His love (that love which is essentially His) is brought to completion (to its full maturity, runs its full course, is perfected) in us!" (1John.4.12 AMP)

Our text says no man has seen God yet. In the Old Testament, we are told that no man can see God's face and live. To the point that Moses, who was reputed to be the friend of God could not see the face of God.

Our text further says that God abides in us, that is lives and remains in us. That means, if no man has seen God and God lives and abides in us it simply means if any man wants to see God they just need to see us. So that when they see us, they see God.

John tells us that as He is so are we in this world. (see 1 John.4.17)  Jesus strengthens this argument further when he told the disciples, if you have seen me you have seen the Father

"Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? (John.14.8 - 9)

So if any man wants to experience the Father, all they need to do is encounter the believer and they would have experienced the Father. If they see us they should have seen God. Seeing your face should equate to seeing God's face. And the way this happens is when that love that is essentially His becomes mature, comes to maturity in its expression in and through us, then the world will come to see and truly experience God in and through us. To see God's face is for them to see our face.

Have a great day today,
