Tender on sinners, tough on sin

Tender on sinners, tough on sin

"Go after those who take the wrong way. Be tender with sinners, but not soft on sin. The sin itself stinks to high heaven." (Jude.1.23 MSB)

If there was one lesson we can all take away from the event of Esther, and indeed the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is that God was tender on sinners but tough on sin and still is.

God would not punish the sinner but rather put that punishment of His Son so that the sin problem is dealt with once and for all. At best, what man got out of dealing with sin was a cover-up, shedding the blood of bulls and goats to make a covering. After which they return every year. But Jesus becomes sin so that the sinner becomes the righteousness of God in Christ.

"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." (2Cor.5.21)

God always love sinners but hates sin. So if you are struggling with a besetting sin, know that God still and will forever love you. Ad he is willing to work with you to deal with that sin.

"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." (2Pet.3.9)

God's always tender on sinners but tough on sin and so should you.

Good day,
Have a great day today,
