The bride has made herself ready

The bride has made herself ready

"Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready." (Rev.19.7)

The marriage of the Lamb has come and his bride has made herself ready. This is interesting because we saw in the epistle that the groom prepared his bride and present her to himsef. Case in point,

Ephesians 5:26 tells us that he has washed her with water of the word, blotting out every form of spot or wrinkle.

"That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish." (Eph.5.26-27)

But our text suggests to us that the bride, though washed and sanctified by her groom has certain responsibility to herself and that is to ready herself for her groom.

Little wonder the Apostle Paul says he brings his body under subjection.  He says he is staying alert and in top condition. This is irrespective of what the groom had done for him.

" I'm staying alert and in top condition. I'm not going to get caught napping, telling everyone else all about it and then missing out myself."(1Cor.9.27 MSB)

Adding his voice to the discuss, the Apostle John say that everyone who has this hope. What hope? The hope of the marriage feast of the Lamb. All of us stay ready with glistening purity that Jesus' Iife secured for us.

"All of us who look forward to his Coming stay ready, with the glistening purity of Jesus' life as a model for our own. (1John.3.3 MSB)

Are you ready? Regular in-take of health dose of the word word of God and doing what the word says makes one ready. Do not be caught napping, ready yourself.

Good day,
Have a great day today,
