You have deserted Me

You have deserted Me

"But I have this [one charge to make] against you: that you have left (abandoned) the love that you had at first [you have deserted Me, your first love]. ( Rev.2.4 AMP)

It is amazing how one gets almost everything right but misses in one little area but that one little area seems highlighted that all the other area where you get it right is drowned. In as much as we want to give you the accolade for all of the areas you were right, we cannot overlook this one little area because this one little area houses every other area..

This is what Jesus seems to be saying to the church in Ephesus. He says to them "You do many things well but you have left your first love - you have deserted me.

Why is this important?

Because our love for the master is the basis of any meaningful relationship with him. Little wonder Matthew 6:3 admonishes us to seek first the Kingdom of God.

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." (Matt.6.33)

Our relationship with the King is an extension of the activities of the kingdom. So if we carry out these activities without firming our relationship with the King, then our activities would not be meaningful. First the King, then the kingdom. So embrace the King with that comes the benefits of the King's domain. Return to your love for the King, let him occupy the preeminent place in your life. That is the only way all of the other activities that you do well will make sense - return to your first love, the king.

Good day,
Have a great day today,
