Walk perfectly before God

Walk perfectly before God

"And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect." (Gen:17.1 KJV)

Can humans by nature really be perfect? For many, perfection cannot be attained and I agree with this position but it can be obtained through the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross of calvary.
The Bible says he perfected us forever through one perfect sacrifice .

"It was a perfect sacrifice by a perfect person to perfect some very imperfect people. By that single offering, he did everything that needed to be done for everyone who takes part in the purifying process." (Heb. 10.14)

The word perfect as stated in our text is really to be mature which implies one always does what is right as the Good News translation puts it

When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am the Almighty God. Obey me and always do what is right. (Genesis 17:1 GNT)

But I want to draw our attention to the phrase "before me" . This implies that our walk truly is only perfect before God. Case in point, Israel before Balak.

"He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen perverseness in Israel: the LORD his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them. (Num. 23.21)

Even when others do not see the best of you and the best in you, know that God see your best intention. They may not all translate as you intended them to but God sees. Walk perfectly before God

"Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity" ( 2Tim.2.19 KJV)

Good day,
Have a great day today,
