Sacrifice your Isaac

Sacrifice your Isaac

"He said, "Take your dear son Isaac whom you love and go to the land of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains that I'll point out to you." (Gen.22.2)

Isaac represents the things we desire so dearly, that thing that you would be willing to give up everything in order to achieve it. Your Isaac could be God's promise to you in the past that has been come your reality today. God is asking, would you love the gift more than you love the Giver of the gift, would you love My present more than My presence?

God said to the children of Israel as they came out of Egypt and entered the promise land to not say their own hands have given them the victory and that they  remember God.

"Make sure that when you eat and are satisfied, build pleasant houses and settle in, see your herds and flocks flourish and more and more money come in, watch your standard of living going up and up-- make sure you don't become so full of yourself and your things that you forget GOD, your God, the God who delivered you from Egyptian slavery" (Deut.8.12-14)

Whatever steals your time with God in the place of fellowship is an Isaac that needs to be sacrificed. That career, that spouse, that contract, the child, that phone etc that does not make you focus on God, is an Isaac and needs to be sacrificed.

Good day,
Have a great day today,
