He led the way
He led the way
"He led the way and, as he approached his brother, bowed seven times, honoring his brother." (Gen.33.3)
Jacob and his family faced a possible annihilation as they journeyed towards what they believed was God's destiny for them. God had appeared to Jacob and instructed him to go back to the land of his birth. The same land he ran from twenty-plus year earlier for fear of his brother's treat to his life. Now he goes back there but this time he is not alone; he is with all that he had become - wives, children and more. He has more to loose now, but the Bible informed us that despiste this treat, he led the way.
As men we must learn to lead our families. He was up in front of them. He did not do this until he had first faced God in the place of prayer. Before he had the courage to lead the way, he had the courage to stand before God.
"He got them safely across the brook along with all his possessions. But Jacob stayed behind by himself, and a man wrestled with him until daybreak." (Gen.32.23-24)
One other lesson we must learn from this is that, in life, when we are faced with problems, running away from them is not the solution. Especially, when they are existential problems bothering on destiny. He ran but now he must face and resolve those problems. And that he did after first facing God.
He led the way. How are you leading the way for your family? Can they look up to you, especially in critical times, harsh economic realities? To lead the way, face God and with God's help you too can lead the way.
Good day,
Have a great day today,
