Grow... 

"But the children of Israel were fruitful and increased abundantly, multiplied and grew exceedingly mighty; and the land was filled with them" (Exod.1.7

Growth can be as challenging, if not more challenging than the lack of it. In fact, the only thing more challenging than the lack of growth, is growth. The children of Israel were given such a conducive environment that they were left with no other option than to grow. 

Our text says they were fruitful. Why were they fruitful? Genesis tells us that they were settled on the best part of the land of Egypt. 

"The land of Egypt is before thee; in the best of the land make thy father and brethren to dwell; in the land of Goshen let them dwell: and if thou knowest any men of activity among them, then make them rulers over my cattle. (Gen.47.6 KJV)

One of the major success factors, one of the growth indicators why the Israeli grew exceedingly mighty will be a conducive environment. Do that for yourself as you enter this new year. Indeed, from this day, create the ambiance that make for growth. They were fruitful, and then increased abundantly, multipleied and grew exceedingly mighty and then they filled all the land - in other words, they subdue the land to the point that Egypt was afraid of them. (see Exo:1:8-10)

Create a conducive environment for your gifts and talents, for your staff and work force. A conducive environment is the soil for growth, for exceeding growth to occur. Our text says "they grew exceedingly mighty". Be curious, making it okay to fail, try new ventures, be of tender heart, and a sharp mind, learn to move on - don't dwell in the past. Be focused, grow...

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem  "When he served as a sacrifice for our sins, he solved the sin problem for good--not only ours, but the whole world's". (1John.1.2 MSB) When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, the sin passed through them to all men. And so the Bible recorded that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.  "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Rom.5.12)  But that was just the beginning of the story. Sin entered the world, and death came as a result of sin. It appears that mankind was doomed.  But Jesus came and served the punishment for sin and in so doing, He solved the sin problem for good. Now mankind has access once again to the Father. Now everything the Father has for us is at our disposal. "Law man" or God's man

The law in one sense was a defective reflection of God. It reflected who God is; though not a perfect reflection. The law says don't steal, God does not steal. The law says do not lie, God does not lie, etc. But there was more to God that law could not show or give to us. As a result, God has given us His grace. His grace was not just a reflection of Himself but was God Himself. The law would should you what to do but could not grant you the ability to do it but grace did not just show you, He did it for us. The essence of the law was to satisfy God but grace came and did that on behalf of mankind. The reason why the Apostle says here that he quiets being a 'law man' but instead became God's man "What actually took place is this: I tried keeping rules and working my head off to please God, and it didn't work.
