It gets good before it gets better

"Jacob exclaimed, "You have deprived me of my children! Joseph has disappeared, Simeon is gone, and now you want to take Benjamin, too. Everything is going against me!" (Gen.42.36 NLT)

When we look back at our lives, we can sometimes find out that it gets good before it gets better. This is me stopping short of saying it gets bad before it gets good. That is the story of our text. 

Jacob, in his thinking has lost Joseph, to him Joseph was dead. Little wonder, he protects Benjamin with everything he's got. He would not let him out if his sight. To worsen the matter, Simeon is been seized by the Joseph that he thought was dead but he did not know this. And he has been told that his children will not be sold food until Benjamin was produced to prove that the brothers were indeed honest men. He is forced to let go of the one thing he wants to hold on to in order to seven everything he is willing to let go. God has a sense of humour. 

So he cries out "Everything is going against me!" But you must understand that you are not the author of your life's script, God is. 

"Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you, The days of my life all prepared before I'd even lived one day. Your thoughts--how rare, how beautiful! God, I'll never comprehend them!"(Ps.139.16-17)

And he has scripted it in such away that you think everything was working against you when in fact they are all working in your favour. I'm such this He does so the devil is left guessing. 

Nothing is against you, everything is working in your favour, the good, the not so good and the very good - all in your favour. So, it gets good before it gets better.

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem

Jesus is the answer to the sin problem  "When he served as a sacrifice for our sins, he solved the sin problem for good--not only ours, but the whole world's". (1John.1.2 MSB) When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, the sin passed through them to all men. And so the Bible recorded that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.  "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Rom.5.12)  But that was just the beginning of the story. Sin entered the world, and death came as a result of sin. It appears that mankind was doomed.  But Jesus came and served the punishment for sin and in so doing, He solved the sin problem for good. Now mankind has access once again to the Father. Now everything the Father has for us is at our disposal. "Law man" or God's man

The law in one sense was a defective reflection of God. It reflected who God is; though not a perfect reflection. The law says don't steal, God does not steal. The law says do not lie, God does not lie, etc. But there was more to God that law could not show or give to us. As a result, God has given us His grace. His grace was not just a reflection of Himself but was God Himself. The law would should you what to do but could not grant you the ability to do it but grace did not just show you, He did it for us. The essence of the law was to satisfy God but grace came and did that on behalf of mankind. The reason why the Apostle says here that he quiets being a 'law man' but instead became God's man "What actually took place is this: I tried keeping rules and working my head off to please God, and it didn't work.
