The big IF

The big IF

"May God Almighty give you mercy as you go before the man, that he might release Simeon and return Benjamin. And if I must bear the anguish of their deaths, then so be it." (Gen.43.14 NLT)

Not until we come to that place where the 'ifs' do not have the power to hold us back we are not ready to achieve greatness. We ask the "What if" questions and then allow them to hold us back. What if I do not succeed? What if people laugh at me? What if that is not the right road? What if... What if... What if...

Jacob had asked that same question, he had asked, "What if something bad were to happen to Benjamin? And that had kept them in a state of inactivity to the point where they were almost starving to death. And it was only at that point, did he allow himself to do what was necessary, what needed to be done.

So in our text we see him say, "And if I must bear the anguish of their deaths, then so be it." (Gen.43.14 NLT) if I must...then so be it. At that point we have moved past our own fears, we have stepped out of the proverbial boat and we have stepped into what God has for us. Esther said this same thing. She declares, "If I perish I perish" (Esther:4:16) We also remember the three Hebrew boys in Daniel 3.

I do not know what "What If" is keeping you but it is time to let go and let God. Throw yourself at the mercy of God and see if He will not come through for you. Make a decision and stand by it. If it is wrong, God will correct you and if He chooses not to, then know that He will work through that to get you to where He wants you to be. Don't let the 'What Ifs' be big enough to stop you.

Good day,
Have a great day today,
Emmanuel Okoro,
(aka Mr. Lift)
