Directed by God 

"Directed by GOD, the whole company of Israel moved on by stages from the Wilderness of Sin. They set camp at Rephidim. And there wasn't a drop of water for the people to drink." (Exod.7.1 MSG) 

Provision is not necessarily proof of God's approval just as lack of provision is not a proof of God's disapproval. The whole company of the the children of Israel had been directed by God. God was the One Who directed them, yet they got there and there wasn't a drop of water for the people to drink. 

That things are going smoothly is not a sign nor proof positive that God is involved. But wherever God leads, He is purpose bound to see you through to a logical conclusion. It may not be your timing but He will never leave nor forsake you until His counsel concerning you stand. 

What is most important is to be sure that you're directed by God. The wilderness will be most welcoming as far as God is there with you. In other words, God may lead you into the wilderness because He will use the wilderness to work out His plans concerning you. As many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God not those with the most provision. Let us not be deceived into thinking that provision equate the leading of God. 

"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God". (Rom.8.14 KJV)

Birth rights for sale  "One day Jacob was cooking a stew. Esau came in from the field, starved. Esau said to Jacob, "Give me some of that red stew--I'm starved!" That's how he came to be called Edom (Red). Jacob said, "Make me a trade: my stew for your rights as the firstborn." Esau said, "I'm starving! What good is a birthright if I'm dead?" Jacob said, "First, swear to me." And he did it. On oath Esau traded away his rights as the firstborn." (Gen.25.29-33).  Life has taught us to trade what we have for what we want or need.
