No other gods, only me. No carved gods of any size, shape, or form of anything whatever, whether of things that fly or walk or swim." (Exod.20.3 - 4)

I imagined that if this passage of scripture had been penned in this day and age, there would be quite a number of things that would have been added to the list of things that should not be made as gods.

I imagine among other things, the mobile phone would have been among that list. Simply because of the fact that, this little gadget we carry about has taken more of our time than any other gadget in history. 

God say we should have no other god, not in shape, size or form beside him. 

How much time do we give to God? What do you inadvertently call god without calling it god? You say it's not important? Hear what God says through the prophet :

"Isn't it true that a son honors his father and a worker his master? So if I'm your Father, where's the honor? If I'm your Master, where's the respect?" GOD-of-the-Angel-Armies is calling you on the carpet: "You priests despise me! "You say, "Not so! How do we despise you?'"By your shoddy, sloppy, defiling worship. "You ask, "What do you mean, "defiling"? What's defiling about it?' "When you say, "The altar of GOD is not important anymore; worship of GOD is no longer a priority,' that's defiling." (Mal.1.6 -7 msg) 

Jesus says it this way:

"Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don't get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes." (Matt.6.34) 

Whatever you seek first, and give your greatest attention to is probably your god.

Birth rights for sale  "One day Jacob was cooking a stew. Esau came in from the field, starved. Esau said to Jacob, "Give me some of that red stew--I'm starved!"
