Come all ye skillful

Come all ye skillful

"Come--all of you who have skills--come and make everything that GOD has commanded:" (Exod.35.10) 

If there is one thing that stands out in our text, it is the fact that God is calling all who have skills to come and make... God wants us to use our skills to make and not to destroy. To use our skills to build and not to tear down. To be a solution and a problem. To be the answer and solution provider. 

As those who are skillful, he says come, all of you. There is no one God created without a skill.  So if God created you, you are among the all. Do not count yourself out. And the purpose He calls you is to be an extension of His creative force on earth. He says come and make everything that GOD has commanded 

The Apostle Paul puts it this way in his letter to the Ephesians :

"No, we neither make nor save ourselves. God does both the making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing." (Eph.2.10) 

God wants you to join Him in the work He does, the good works we had better be doing. Come - all ye skillful

Birthright for sale

Birth rights for sale  "One day Jacob was cooking a stew. Esau came in from the field, starved. Esau said to Jacob, "Give me some of that red stew--I'm starved!" That's how he came to be called Edom (Red). Jacob said, "Make me a trade: my stew for your rights as the firstborn." Esau said, "I'm starving! What good is a birthright if I'm dead?" Jacob said, "First, swear to me." And he did it. On oath Esau traded away his rights as the firstborn." (Gen.25.29-33).  Life has taught us to trade what we have for what we want or need.
