Let His Presence take the lead

"GOD said, "My presence will go with you. I'll see the journey to the end." Moses said, "If your presence doesn't take the lead here, call this trip off right now." (Exod.33.14-15)

There is nothing more important than thee presence of God. And Moses knew this. So when God said He will not go with Israel, Moses did all knew how to, to make God go with them. 

This story teaches us a lot. How do we get to the place with God that we can influence God's decisions? The Bible shows that Moses stayed with God until He decided to go with them. Moses knew that God was committed more than anything else to His plan and Purpose so Moses approached God from that perspective. He says "If Your presence doesn't take the lead, call this trip off right now" 

God couldn't call the trip off because that would violate His word, His promise to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that their descendant would inherit the promised land. 

God may we need Your presence more than our necessary food. May we align with your plan and purpose and after we have done that, insist on You or nothing else. We ask oh God let Your Presence take the lead today and always. Amen

Birth rights for sale  "One day Jacob was cooking a stew. Esau came in from the field, starved. Esau said to Jacob, "Give me some of that red stew--I'm starved!" That's how he came to be called Edom (Red). Jacob said, "Make me a trade: my stew for your rights as the firstborn." Esau said, "I'm starving! What good is a birthright if I'm dead?" Jacob said, "First, swear to me." And he did it. On oath Esau traded away his rights as the firstborn." (Gen.25.29-33).  Life has taught us to trade what we have for what we want or need.
