Pay Attention to the Stirring

Pay Attention to the Stirring

"And the Spirit of the LORD began to stir him while he was in Mahaneh Dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol." (Judges 13:25 NIV)

God leads His people in different ways, and one of those ways is through the inner stirring of His Spirit. Sometimes, He places a burden, a passion, a longing, or a persistent desire in your heart. It is more than a passing interest; it keeps drawing your attention no matter how much you try to ignore it. That may very well be the Spirit of God pointing you toward purpose.

The Bible says the Spirit of the Lord began to stir Samson. God was already preparing him for the assignment attached to his life. Before Samson ever stepped into his calling, there was first a stirring within him.

Many times, God works the same way with us. He nudges us toward certain things, certain burdens, certain dreams, certain acts of service, or even certain changes we need to make. Those stirrings are not accidental. God could be using them to direct you toward His plan for your life.

Psalm 37:4 says:
"Delight yourself in the LORD, and He will give you the desires of your heart." (KJV)

This does not simply mean God grants every wish we have. It also means that when we delight ourselves in Him, He plants desires in our hearts that align with His will. He shapes our passions according to His purpose.

So, pay attention to the stirrings within you. Pay attention to the desires that glorify God, the burdens that refuse to leave, and the dreams that keep calling you closer to Him. The Spirit of God may be leading you toward your assignment.

Reflection
What has God been stirring in your heart lately? Is there a calling, burden, idea, or step of obedience you have been ignoring? Ask God for discernment and courage to follow His leading.

Prayer
Lord, help me to recognize the stirrings of Your Spirit within me. Give me sensitivity to Your leading and wisdom to understand Your direction for my life. Plant in my heart desires that align with Your will, and give me the courage to walk in the assignment You have prepared for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Have a fruitful day,
