If You Say So

Faith is not proven by what we understand but by what we obey. God's instructions may not always make sense, but they always lead to His purpose.

Scripture
"Ruth said, 'If you say so, I'll do it, just as you've told me.'" — Ruth 3:5

Explanation
A believer's first response should always be, "What does God's Word say?"—and then obey it.

Ruth trusted Naomi's counsel and acted on it. In the same way, Simon Peter obeyed Jesus' instruction after a night of catching nothing: "But if you say so, I'll let down the nets" (Luke 5:5). His obedience produced a miraculous catch.

God's instructions may seem unreasonable to our minds, but His Word never fails. When God says it, our responsibility is to obey.

Application
What has God already spoken to you through His Word? Stop waiting for everything to make sense. Trust Him enough to say, "If You say so, I'll do it." Let God's Word have the final say in every decision.

Is there an area of your life where God is calling you to obey, even when it doesn't seem logical?

Prayer
Lord, give me a heart that trusts Your Word above my own understanding. Help me to obey You promptly and completely. May Your Word always have the final say in my life. Amen.

With Such an Attitude “She said, ‘Of course I’ll go with you. But understand that with an attitude like that, there will be no glory for you. The LORD will hand Sisera over to a woman.’ So Deborah went with Barak to Kedesh.” (Judges 4:9) It is often said that attitude is everything—and in this passage, that truth is unmistakable. Through Deborah, God gave Barak a clear promise of victory over Sisera. Yet, Barak hesitated. He was unwilling to step forward in obedience unless Deborah accompanied him. "Law man" or God's man

The law in one sense was a defective reflection of God. It reflected who God is; though not a perfect reflection. The law says don't steal, God does not steal. The law says do not lie, God does not lie, etc. But there was more to God that law could not show or give to us. As a result, God has given us His grace. His grace was not just a reflection of Himself but was God Himself. The law would should you what to do but could not grant you the ability to do it but grace did not just show you, He did it for us. The essence of the law was to satisfy God but grace came and did that on behalf of mankind.
