Transformation is a Process

Transformation Is a Process

A new birth can happen in a moment, but becoming like Christ takes a lifetime.

Scripture

“Before you know it, the Spirit of GOD will come on you and you'll be prophesying right along with them. And you'll be transformed. You'll be a new person!”( 1 Samuel 10:6)

Explanation
When you receive Christ, something happens instantly—you become a new creation. That is regeneration: God gives you new life in your spirit.

But transformation is different. It is a process.

Paul says, “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 12:2). As your mind is continually renewed by God's Word, your thoughts, attitudes, choices, and lifestyle begin to change.

The new life God has put within you begins to show on the outside.

Application
Don't become frustrated because you are not yet where you want to be.

Stay in the Word. Renew your mind. Obey what God shows you.

Transformation happens as you consistently allow God's Word to reshape the way you think and live.

Reflection
Am I giving the Word of God enough room to transform the way I think and live?

Prayer
Lord, thank You for making me a new creation in Christ. Help me to continually renew my mind through Your Word. Transform my thoughts, attitudes, and actions until my life reflects the new person You have made me. Amen.

Discussion Question
What area of your life is God currently transforming through His Word?

Have a fruitful day,

"Law man" or God's man

Image
The law in one sense was a defective reflection of God. It reflected who God is; though not a perfect reflection. The law says don't steal, God does not steal. The law says do not lie, God does not lie, etc. But there was more to God that law could not show or give to us. As a result, God has given us His grace. His grace was not just a reflection of Himself but was God Himself. The law would should you what to do but could not grant you the ability to do it but grace did not just show you, He did it for us. The essence of the law was to satisfy God but grace came and did that on behalf of mankind. The reason why the Apostle says here that he quiets being a 'law man' but instead became God's man "What actually took place is this: I tried keeping rules and working my head off to please God, and it didn't work. So I quit being a "law man" so that I could be God's man". (Gal.2.18 MSG) Are you 'law man' who is still strivi...

Think About It. Talk It Over. Do Something!

Think About It. Talk It Over. Do Something! "And he ordered the men he sent out, 'Say to every man in Israel: Has such a thing as this ever happened from the time the Israelites came up from the land of Egypt until now? Think about it! Talk it over. Do something!'" (Judg. 19:30) These three simple instructions reveal a powerful process for bringing change and accomplishing worthwhile goals. First, think about it . Every meaningful achievement begins as an idea. It starts in the mind where possibilities are imagined, plans are formed, and vision takes shape. Before anything can become reality, it must first become clear in your thoughts. Next, talk it over . When an idea captures your heart, you naturally begin to discuss it. You share it with trusted people, refine it through conversation, and give it a voice. Talking about it helps transform a vague thought into a defined direction. Talking about it gives life to the idea. Finally, do something . Thi...

The Future is in Your Hands

Image
The Future Is in Your Hands If you could write the script of your life, what would the future look like? Sometimes we become so consumed with what we have lost that we fail to see what God is about to place in our hands. Scripture “And by the way, your lost donkeys—the ones you’ve been hunting for the last three days—have been found, so don’t worry about them. At this moment, Israel’s future is in your hands.”( 1 Samuel 9:20 NLT) Explanation Israel was entering a new era—one they had never experienced before. The season of judges was coming to an end, and the nation was about to have a king. But while God was thinking nation-building , Saul was thinking about lost donkeys . God was thinking future ; Saul was thinking past . God was thinking forest ; Saul was focused on trees . Saul was worried about what was missing, while God was preparing him for what was coming. Isn’t that sometimes our story too? We can become so preoccupied with yesterday’s disappointments, t...
