Let love lead the way

"Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the saints." (Phlm.1.7 NIV)

There is so much ado about hate speech in this day and age. But give love a chance and let love lead the way.

Love is a many-sided emotion, it is a many-splendor thing. When love leads, hate is non-existent. Love gives great joy and encouragement. Where love lives, hate is absent. Where love stays, sadness is alien. Where love thrives, everyone is refreshed.

Without love, we are lost. We must consciously practice loving by loving. Go out of your way to do a kind deed for someone who cannot pay you back. If that is a long stretch, then begin with those around you. But practice loving someone today. Put a smile on someone's face. Do whatever you can to make someone smile.

We cannot end the cycle of violence and hate by retaliation but we can start by refreshing someone. It is not your place to determine how people will react but you must hold yourself accountable for your words and actions. Let them express love, care, and kindness. Let love lead the way.

"Love never gives up. Love cares more for others than for self. Love doesn't want what it doesn't have. Love doesn't strut, Doesn't have a swelled head, Doesn't force itself on others, Isn't always "me first," Doesn't fly off the handle, Doesn't keep score of the sins of others, Doesn't revel when others grovel, Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,  Puts up with anything, Trusts God always, Always looks for the best, Never looks back, But keeps going to the end. (1Cor.13.4 -7 MSB)

Good day,
Have a great day today,
