Worship God on your own terms

Worship God on your own terms

"Pharaoh called in Moses and Aaron that very night and said, "Get out of here and be done with you--you and your Israelites! Go worship GOD on your own terms." (Exod.12.31)

As God chose to show His power in Egypt to prove to Pharaoh that He is God, Pharaoh at different times called Moses and told him how Moses and the children of Israel should worship God. One time he says to them, "only the men should go and sacrifice (Exo. 10.11) Another time he says "sacrifice to your God in the land" (Exo.8.25) that is the land of Egypt. And yet another time, he say "you shall not go far" (Exo. 8.28)

But at all thses instances, Pharaoh was wrong. It is very important that you worship God on your own terms and by that I mean the the terms God has specified for you to worship Him. God told Moses and Aaron how to worship Him but the authority figure was switching on them for his own benefit. Paul asked the Galatians if someone put a hex on them

"You crazy Galatians! Did someone put a hex on you? Have you taken leave of your senses? Something crazy has happened, for it's obvious that you no longer have the crucified Jesus in clear focus in your lives. His sacrifice on the Cross was certainly set before you clearly enough." (Gal.3.1)

God has told you in His word how to worship Him. Read and study the word of God and the Holy Spirit is there to teach you. Jesus said that the Holy Spirit will guide into all truth.

"Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come." (John.16.13)

There is no better guide than the Holy Spirit, there is no better teacher than the Holy Spirit. If you follow Him He will teach God's word.

"But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don't need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you all things, and what he teaches is true--it is not a lie. So continue in what he has taught you, and continue to live in Christ. (1John.2.27 NLT)

Worship God on the terms spelt out in the Bible and not on any other term.

Good day,
