Bring Words

Bring Words

“And then, in the presence of GOD, your God, say this: I have brought the sacred share; I’ve given it to the Levite, the foreigner, the orphan, and the widow. What you commanded, I’ve done. I haven’t detoured around your commands; I haven’t forgotten a single one.”
Deuteronomy 26:13

Words carry power. They can lift a soul or crush a spirit. The words we speak and the words we embrace shape our lives more profoundly than we often realize. Scripture consistently teaches that when we come before God, we must come with words—intentional, sincere, truth-filled words.

Hosea instructs: “Take with you words, and turn to the LORD…” (Hos. 14:2). Jesus reinforces this principle: “When you pray, say…” (Luke 11:2). And He goes even further in John 15:7, showing us that effective prayer flows from a heart soaked in God’s Word: “If My words abide in you… ask what you will, and it shall be done.”

Our passage in Deuteronomy reveals the same pattern. Israel was commanded to say something specific before God—words grounded in obedience and aligned with His instructions. We also approach God on the basis of His Word, not our emotions, not our assumptions. When we find what He has said and bring it back to Him in faith, God is bound by His integrity to honor His Word.

Whatever challenge you face today, there is a word from God for it. Locate it. Believe it. Bring it before Him. Stand on it.

Reflection

God responds to His Word, not our worry. When we speak His promises back to Him, we align our hearts with His will and invite His power into our situation. Prayer is not empty speech—it is presenting God’s Word before the God who cannot lie.

Prayer

Father, teach me to value the power of words—especially Your Word. Help me to come before You with faith-filled speech rooted in Scripture. Let Your Word dwell richly in me and guide my prayers. Amen.

Have a fruitful day,
