God Will Outdo Himself
God Will Outdo Himself
"GOD, your God, will outdo himself in making things go well for you: you'll have babies, get calves, grow crops, and enjoy an all-around good life. Yes, GOD will start enjoying you again, making things go well for you just as he enjoyed doing it for your ancestors." — Deut. 30:9
God is more committed to your good life than you could ever imagine. From the very beginning, His intention was for humanity to enjoy abundance, peace, and fulfilment. Think about the Garden of Eden—everything was already prepared before man arrived. Provision came before the person.
Our text says God will outdo Himself in making things go well for you. If He could prepare a whole garden at creation, and He now says He plans to outdo Himself, imagine the level of goodness He has in store for you today.
He promises fruitfulness—“You’ll have babies, get calves, grow crops, and enjoy an all-around good life.” An all-round good life is God’s plan for you. So if you notice any area of your life where things are not working, you can boldly say, “This is not God’s plan for me.” As believers, we resist the devil and insist that God’s will—His good, pleasing, perfect will—prevails.
The verse ends with a beautiful assurance: when things go well for you, God Himself delights in it. “Yes, GOD will start enjoying you again…” Your progress gives Him pleasure. Your prosperity brings Him joy. And remember, “God takes pleasure in the prosperity of His children.”
Reflection
Pause and consider: God does not just want to bless you—He delights in blessing you. He finds joy in seeing your life flourish. What areas of your life need His touch today? Where do you need Him to “outdo Himself”? Bring those areas before Him with confidence, knowing His heart is already inclined toward your good.
Prayer
Father, thank You for Your promise to outdo Yourself in my life. I open my heart to Your goodness and I align myself with Your will. Let every area of my life reflect Your abundance, peace, and favour. Where things are not working, I declare Your perfect plan will prevail. Thank You for taking pleasure in my prosperity. I receive Your goodness today, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Have a fruitful day,
