Give it All You've Got
Give It All You’ve Got“
Give it everything you have, heart and soul. Make sure you carry out the revelation that Moses commanded you—every bit of it. Don’t get off track, either left or right, so you may reach your destination.” (Joshua 1:7, MSG)
As this year unfolds, if there is one guiding slogan to live by, let it be this: give it all you’ve got. That was God’s clear instruction to Joshua. Joshua faced a daunting reality—he was stepping into the shoes of Moses, a leader who had left an indelible footprint in the sands of time. He was not competing with Moses, yet the responsibility before him was enormous. Knowing this, God did not ask Joshua to imitate Moses; He asked him to give his whole heart and soul.
What does that mean for us? It means that every assignment, opportunity, and responsibility we undertake this year deserves our full commitment. No half-hearted efforts. No divided attention. It means investing courage where fear tempts us to retreat, and summoning strength where weakness whispers excuses. Each step forward should be taken with intention and excellence.
This echoes the wisdom of Scripture:“
Whatever turns up, grab it and do it—and heartily! This is your last and only chance at it. For there’s neither work to do nor thoughts to think in the company of the dead, where you’re most certainly headed.”( Ecclesiastes 9:10, MSG)
This is a seize-the-moment call. Do it now. Do it fully. Do it thoughtfully. This life is the only arena where work is done, decisions are made, and purpose is fulfilled. So don’t hold back. Don’t drift. Give it everything you’ve got.
Reflection
Where have I been holding back—giving less than my best out of fear, comparison, or discouragement? What would change if I truly gave my whole heart and soul to what God has placed before me today?
Prayer
Lord, thank You for the opportunities set before me this year. Deliver me from half-hearted living and distracted effort. Grant me the courage, strength, and focus to give my very best in all I do. Help me to walk faithfully, without turning to the left or the right, until I reach the destination You have prepared for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Have a fruitful day,
