Don’t Let the Lion Stop You

Don’t Let the Lion Stop You

“Samson went down to Timnah with his father and mother. When he got to the vineyards of Timnah, a young lion came at him, roaring.” (Judges 14:5)

Knowing the assignment Samson carried did not exempt him from opposition. The journey to Timnah was connected to God’s purpose, yet on the way, a roaring lion appeared before him. The woman who caught Samson’s attention was part of God’s orchestration, but even in the center of divine purpose, there was still a battle to fight.

That sounds familiar to many of us. We ask, “If God truly led me here, why am I facing resistance? Why the delays, the pressure, the battles, and the obstacles?” But the presence of a lion does not mean the absence of God. Obstacles are not always signs that you missed the way; sometimes they are part of the preparation for the way.

God often works challenges into the process of building us. The obstacle is not sent to destroy you but to reveal what God has placed inside you. Difficulties develop strength, endurance, wisdom, and confidence for the assignment ahead. The very thing standing against you today may become the testimony that strengthens you tomorrow.

The next verse tells us what happened:

“The Spirit of the LORD came powerfully upon him, and he tore the lion apart with his bare hands…” (Judges 14:6)

The same God who allowed Samson to face the lion also gave him the strength to overcome it. God was not surprised by the attack. Before Samson ever encountered the lion, Heaven had already made provision for victory.

So do not let your lion stop you. Do not allow fear, opposition, disappointment, or hardship to make you abandon what God has placed in your heart. The obstacle may roar loudly, but God’s power in you is greater.

Reflection
Sometimes we pray for open doors but become discouraged when we meet resistance along the way. Yet many of God’s greatest servants encountered lions before they entered their next season. The challenge before you may not be a signal to retreat; it may be an invitation to discover the strength God has already deposited within you.

Prayer
Father, help me not to be intimidated by the lions on my path. Strengthen my heart when challenges arise and remind me that You are aware of every obstacle before I encounter it. Fill me with courage, endurance, and confidence in Your power. May every battle become an opportunity to witness Your strength at work in me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Have a fruitful day,
