Cut Hair Still Grows
Cut Hair Still Grows
Have you ever felt like you've lost everything that made you strong? Perhaps you failed, made a costly mistake, or found yourself in a situation where it seemed all hope was gone. If so, remember this simple truth: cut hair still grows.
"But the hair of his head began to grow again after it had been shaved." (Judges 16:22)
Samson's downfall came when he revealed the secret of his strength. The moment his hair was cut, he lost the power God had entrusted to him and became vulnerable to his enemies. The Philistines captured him, blinded him, shackled him, and humiliated him.
They thought they had seen the end of Samson. They believed his story was over. But there was one thing they failed to notice: while Samson was in prison, his hair began to grow again.
That growing hair was more than a physical change; it was a sign that God was not finished with him. Through pain, humiliation, and repentance, Samson's relationship with God was being restored. As his hair grew, so did his strength and his faith.
When the day came for the Philistines to mock him publicly, Samson cried out to God for one more opportunity. God answered his prayer, and Samson accomplished more in his final moment than he had in many years before.
Perhaps you feel like Samson today. Maybe you've experienced loss, failure, disappointment, or the consequences of poor decisions. Others may have written you off, and you may even have written yourself off.
But God's grace has not run out. What has been cut down can grow again. What has been weakened can be strengthened again. What has been lost can be restored.
Don't focus on what you've lost. Focus on what God is rebuilding. Stay close to Him, remain faithful, and prepare yourself for the new strength He is developing in you.
Remember: cut hair still grows.
Reflection
God specializes in restoration. Our failures may wound us, but they do not have to define us. When we return to Him with sincere hearts, He can renew our strength, restore our purpose, and use our lives again for His glory.
Prayer
Father, thank You that You are the God of restoration. Even when I have failed or fallen short, Your mercy remains available to me. Restore my strength, renew my faith, and help me trust that You are not finished with me. Use every setback to draw me closer to You and prepare me for the purpose You still have for my life. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Discussion Question
What area of your life needs God's restoring touch today, and what practical step can you take to draw closer to Him this week?
Have a fruitful day,
