God Gave Me What I Asked For

God Gave Me What I Asked For

Hook:
There is no testimony quite like saying, "I prayed, and God answered." Hannah's story reminds us that prayer is not a religious routine—it is an invitation to experience God's faithfulness.

Scripture

"I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of Him." (1 Samuel 1:27)

Explanation
Hannah's words are filled with gratitude. She wasn't celebrating her own persistence; she was celebrating God's faithfulness. The child she held in her arms was living proof that God hears sincere prayers.

Our God is still in the business of answering prayer. The question is not whether He is able, but whether we are willing to ask in faith. Jesus repeatedly encouraged His followers to bring their needs before the Father because asking is an expression of trust.

The Bible tells us that it is the Father's good pleasure to give us the kingdom. God is not reluctant to bless His children. Jesus reinforced this truth when He said:

"If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?"Matthew 7:11 (KJV)

Prayer often becomes discouraging when answers seem delayed. Yet God's delays are never His denials. He invites us to keep asking, believing, and trusting His perfect timing.

Applicatio
What have you stopped praying about because you assumed God would not answer? Bring it back before Him. Don't allow disappointment to silence your prayers. Ask boldly, believe confidently, and leave the outcome in God's hands. The God who answered Hannah is still answering prayers today.

Reflection
Faith is not merely believing that God can answer prayer—it is believing that He welcomes your requests. Don't let fear, doubt, or past disappointments keep you from asking. Every answered prayer begins with someone who dared to pray.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You because You are a loving Father who delights in giving good gifts to Your children. Renew my confidence in prayer. Help me to ask in faith, trust Your timing, and rejoice in Your answers. May my life become a testimony of Your faithfulness, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Discussion Question
What is one prayer request you have been carrying for a long time, and how can you continue trusting God for His perfect answer rather than giving up?

Have a fruitful day.
