God Is Especially Kind to Those Who Honour Him

There is a difference between receiving God's blessings and becoming the special object of His favour. Those who make God their highest priority often experience His extraordinary kindness.

Scripture
"GOD was most especially kind to Hannah. She had three more sons and two daughters! The boy Samuel stayed at the sanctuary and grew up with GOD." (1 Samuel 2:21)

Explanation
One of the greatest gifts you can give anyone is not merely your money, your time, or your possessions—it is yourself. You can give presents without giving your heart, but true love is demonstrated by personal sacrifice. Your presence is often more valuable than your present.

Hannah understood this principle. She had prayed for years for a child. Her longing was deep, and her tears were many. Yet when God finally answered her prayer by giving her Samuel, she did something remarkable—she gave him back to God, not temporarily, but for the rest of his life.

At first glance, her decision may seem simple. But when you consider the years of waiting, the pain of barrenness, and the joy of finally holding her son, you realise it was one of the greatest acts of faith and surrender recorded in Scripture.

By dedicating Samuel to God, Hannah declared that God mattered more than even her greatest blessing. She trusted that the One who gave her Samuel could take better care of him than she ever could. God saw her sacrifice, honoured her faith, and was "most especially kind" to her, blessing her with three more sons and two daughters.

God never overlooks genuine service. Nothing we do for Him is wasted. Every act of obedience, every sacrifice, every moment spent serving Him is remembered. He knows those who truly belong to Him, and in His own time, He rewards their faithfulness.

Application
Ask yourself: Is God truly first in my life? Are there blessings, ambitions, or relationships that I value more than Him? Like Hannah, be willing to place everything God has given you back into His hands. When you serve God wholeheartedly—with your heart, your time, your resources, and your life—you can trust that He will never leave your sacrifice unrewarded.

Reflection
What are you holding so tightly that God is asking you to surrender? Remember, you can never outgive God. Whatever you entrust to Him is always safest in His hands, and His kindness far exceeds anything you could ever lose.

Prayer
Father, thank You for Your faithfulness and kindness. Help me to love You above every blessing You have given me. Give me the grace to serve You with my whole heart and to trust You completely. As You remembered Hannah, may Your special favour rest upon my life. Be especially kind to me and my family, and let my service to You never be in vain. In Jesus' name, Amen.
