DONKEYS GOT LOST

Sometimes, what looks like a loss may actually be a divine detour.

We often associate donkeys with foolishness, but they are actually known for being cautious. What people may interpret as stupidity can sometimes be wisdom in disguise. And if God can use something as ordinary as lost donkeys to redirect a man’s destiny, He can certainly use what seems like a setback in your life to lead you somewhere greater.

Scripture

“Some of Kish’s donkeys got lost. Kish said to his son, ‘Saul, take one of the servants with you and go look for the donkeys.’” (1 Samuel 9:3 NLT)

Explanation
Kish’s donkeys went missing, and Saul was sent to look for them. Saul thought he was going on a search for lost donkeys, but God was leading him toward something far greater.

He went looking for donkeys and found God’s purpose.

What appeared to be a loss in Kish’s household became the beginning of Saul’s encounter with Samuel—and ultimately his introduction to kingship.

Sometimes, God hides an encounter inside an inconvenience. What looks like a wrong turn may actually be a divine redirection.

Application
Never be too quick to conclude that something is lost simply because you cannot see it.

You may feel lost, overlooked, forgotten, or written off. Perhaps people have judged you by what they see and concluded that you will never amount to much.

But God has not lost sight of you.

Just as Saul was sent to look for what was lost, God sent His Son to seek and save the lost. Jesus said that the Good Shepherd would leave the ninety-nine to search for the one that was lost.

If God cared enough to pursue one lost sheep, you can be certain that He has not forgotten you.

Your present situation may look like a loss, but God can turn it into a divine encounter.

Reflection
What if the thing you are calling a setback is actually God redirecting your steps?

Don't give up because you feel lost. God knows exactly where you are.

Prayer
Lord, when I feel lost, forgotten, or discouraged, remind me that You have not lost sight of me. Lead me through every detour into Your purpose for my life. Amen.
