The Meeting of Minds
The Meeting of Minds
What if the greatest obstacle to what God wants to do through you is not your circumstances, but the way you think? God is looking for people whose minds are so renewed by His Word that they can recognize His purpose, embrace His plan, and move with Him.
Scripture
“No one can stop GOD from saving when he sets his mind to it… Do all that is in your mind; I am with you in whatever you think [best].” (1 Samuel 14:6–7)
Explanation
Jonathan understood something powerful: God is not limited by numbers, circumstances, or human strength. If God decides to save, no one can stop Him.
But Jonathan was also willing to align himself with what God wanted to do. His thoughts, desires, and actions were moving in the same direction as God’s purpose. It was a meeting of minds—Jonathan’s mind aligned with the mind of God.
This is one of the results of a renewed mind. As we continually expose ourselves to God’s Word, our thinking begins to change. We begin to see things differently, desire what God desires, and value what God values.
Amos asked, “Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?” (Amos 3:3). Walking with God requires alignment with God.
Application
Renew your mind with God’s Word. Don’t merely ask, “What do I want?” Ask, “What does God want?”
When your mind is aligned with God’s mind, His purposes become your priorities, His heart becomes your passion, and you become more readily available for His use.
Reflection
Are my thoughts and desires moving in the same direction as God’s, or am I asking God to bless my direction?
Prayer
Father, renew my mind through Your Word. Help me to think Your thoughts, desire what You desire, and align my plans with Your purpose. Let my heart beat for what matters to You, and make me available for whatever You want to accomplish through me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Discussion Question
What is one area of your life where you need to bring your thinking into greater alignment with God’s Word?
